Show the graphs before other crashes to compare if it’s supposed to be an indicator. Used goods have seemed overpriced for a while. Maybe people are buying new cars even. Too little information!
So are consistent complaints over many months that used care prices were unreasonable for the product delivered, but that many distributors had trapped themselves with their buy prices.
Having been in the used car biz, I agree that it's a canary. Double-borrowing against inventory is a classic desperation move, all the backup lenders had better be checking.
Interesting article brother . Curious though …. If a big chuck of loans are being flat out dropped because they were illegally written, it would seem that the used car industry may not be the tell the data shows. It could be the trigger of a major reset in the used car market in general . No?
